Super Bowl Sunday starts off sunny, relatively warm

After all the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments (mostly from media folk) about inclement weather affecting the Super Bowl experience, here is how Super Bowl Sunday began:

We took that at 10:00 a.m. ET in Times Square. It was 43 degrees at the time and obviously sunny. The high is expected to hit 51 and the low 32.

Yes, we know, the Big Game takes place in East Rutherford, NJ. Same deal: High in the low 50s, lows in the low 30s. It's expected to be in the mid-40s by kickoff, and there's a 20 percent chance of rain (and a zero percent chance of snow).

So there you go: Weather-related disaster averted. (That said... The New York-New Jersey area could see 1-3 inches of snow Monday, which should make travel interesting.)
