Joe Namath showed up at Super Bowl XLVIII, ready for the cold and ready for some action by sporting an absolutely incredible fur coat. As you can see in the photo above, the ladies like it, Twitter loves it, and apparently, so does the owner of the shop that sold the coat to Namath in the first place.
Mark Kaufman, who owns Mark Kaufman Furs in midtown Manhattan, told CBS New York that Namath entered the store last week and said he needed a new look for the Super Bowl coin toss (which was awfully amusing to the Broncos players after Namath prematurely ejected the coin up in the air).
Said Kaufman: "I said, 'I think we have something perfect.'"
Turns out that after trying on a number of other coats -- including dyed blue mink and red fox coats -- Namath bought the one he wore Sunday, which was a blend of coyote and fox furs that cost about $3,000.
PETA was not impressed.
Either way, the store apparently is also getting some acclaim for being Namath's fur coat hookup.
Said Kaufman: "I just took an order from Dubai."
