As we told you last week in the Redskins offseason preview, the team wanted to re-sign cornerback DeAngelo Hall, even though a player the caliber of an Aqib Talib could be available in free agency.

Sounds like the Redskins are more comfortable investing in the product they already have.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora has confirmed the NBC Washington report that the Redskins and Hall have come to an agreement on a new four-year contract. According to NFL.com, the contract is said to be worth about $5 million per season.

Hall is coming off his second-straight season with four interceptions -- including two in 2013 he returned for touchdowns. But like we said in the offseason preview, Hall is a home run-or-strikeout kind of player, and Pro Football Focus actually ranked him as the No. 84 cornerback in the league last year (out of 110 that were measured).

Before the 2013 season, the Redskins released Hall in order to save the $8 million salary cap hit and then resigned him on a one-year, $1.25 million contract.

What's interesting about Hall is that he might not be a cornerback for long. He's on record as saying that he wouldn't necessarily mind a move to the safety position.
