The fifth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft will be spending his first offseason doing rehab. Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah underwent shoulder surgery in early February, according to Ansah will have to rehab the shoulder, but he's expected to be ready for the beginning for the 2014 season.

Ansah originally injured the shoulder in Week 14 against Philadelphia, but he fought through the pain and played in each of Detroit's final three games of the season. The BYU-product led all rookies in 2013 with eight sacks, that number also led the Lions defense.

The Lions first-round pick did miss two games during his rookie season, but that wasn't related to his shoulder. Ansah injured his ankle in Week 8 against the Cowboys and missed the Lions following two games against Chicago and Pittsburgh.
