While nothing's routine when you're talking about the health of 2013 NFL MVP Peyton Manning, the neck exam he'll undergo on Monday morning is supposed to be as routine as they come.

Manning, ESPN's Jeff Legwold reports, will have his annual neck exam Monday as the Broncos wrap up their season.

Per Legwold, Manning already passed his end-of-year physical. This is a contractually required check up on his neck that came along with the mammoth free-agent deal the Broncos gave him before the 2012 season.

Manning missed all of 2011, his final year with the Colts, after undergoing four neck surgeries.

The quarterback was repeatedly asked at the Super Bowl whether or not he planned on playing another year in 2014. He made it quite clear that he wants "to continue" and who can blame him after a season that saw him break most of the major passing records.

We heard at the time that his future hinged on the neck exam in question, set for Monday.

The best guess is that Manning's cleared. He didn't have any issues playing in the Super Bowl (the Seahawks defense aside) and he's been, as you can see above, playing golf this offeason.

The $20 million Manning is owed in 2014 could be voided if he suffered a neck injury.

It would be a major upset if that ended up happening. Never say never but there's a strong chance that Manning will pass his exam and come back to light up the NFL for at least one more year.
