Defensive lineman Jason Hatcher is leaving Dallas, but the Cowboys will still get to see him at least twice a year. Hatcher has agreed to terms on a deal with Dallas' NFC East division rivals in Washington, his agent announced on Twitter.

Hatcher's contract with the Redskins is a four-year deal, worth up to $27.5 million, according to ESPN.com.

Although DeMarcus Ware was probably the only household name on the Cowboys defensive linemen in 2013, Hatcher had the best season. The 31-year-old led the Dallas defense with 11 sacks, a number that was topped by only 10 other players in the NFL last year. Those 11 sacks were also more than the entire Redskins defensive line combined for in 2013.

Hatcher's emergence in Dallas last season coincided with the Cowboys switch from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3. In the 3-4 defense, Hatcher was playing defensive end. In the 4-3 defense Dallas switched to last season, Hatcher was moved to defensive tackle and earned his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Hatcher had three multi-sack games last season, including in Week 6 where he sacked Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III two times in a 31-16 Cowboys win.

In CBSSports.com's free agent rankings, Hatcher was rated as the No. 2 defensive tackle available and the 19th best free agent overall.

The move to Washington in 2014 will mark Hatcher's first NFL season outside of Dallas. Hatcher had been with the Cowboys since being selected by the team in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
