Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was busy Thursday. First, he and former Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount debated who was the NFL's best cornerback. To paraphrase T.O., Sherman loves him some Sherman, while Blount was partial to Aqib Talib, who just signed a six-year, $57 million deal with the Broncos.

A short time later, Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall got in on the action because ... well, we have no idea. He informed Sherman that his success was a product of a stout Seahawks pass rush, not to mention playing in a secondary that includes Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.

We're particularly fond of the "5th-round pick, no speed, good hands" line.

(In related news: Back in 2006, Hall couldn't catch a slow-footed Hines Ward -- even after he lost one shoe. Before the game, Hall said, "I will play off the Pittsburgh wide receivers because none of them can outrun me, and because I can beat them to their routes." Alrighty then.)

Hall continued the conversation Friday during an appearance on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, DC.

That might be the most reasonable think Hall has ever said.

Of course, two months ago, Hall said this so it remains almost impossible to take him seriously: “If you line up the top five receivers in the NFL and have one guy go out and cover ‘em, I put myself out there before anybody else,” Hall said, via the Sports Bog. “Before Richard Sherman, before [Darrelle] Revis, before [Patrick] Peterson, before anybody else. There's a lot goes into a defensive play or a defensive scheme. But you're asking me to go out there and just lock one guy up, ain't nobody better than me. In man-to-man coverage, ain't nobody better than me.”

Either way, Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who hosts an annual softball game that will include Hall and Sherman this offseason, wants to make sure that everybody can play nice.

Quick refresher: The animosity between Sherman and 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtreethat led to all this dates backs to last offseason when Crabtree reportedly tried to start a fight with Sherman. The scene? Fitzgerald's softball shindig.
