Arian Foster played in only eight games last season and was eventually shelved with a back injury that required surgery. On Sunday morning, he took to Twitter to announce that's he'll be ready for the 2014 season.

Foster was hampered by a strained calf last offseason, roughly nine months after he signed a five-year, $43.5 million extension. He rushed for 1,424 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2012, but managed just 542 rushing yards and a lone score last season.

The Texans are in the midst of rebuilding a roster that managed only two wins last season. The team will almost certainly draft a quarterback with its first overall pick, and Matt Schaub could be released or traded in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Foster's backfield mate, Ben Tate, signed with the Browns last week, leaving inexperienced Ray Graham, Jonathan Grimes and Dennis Johnson on the depth chart. It's reasonable to think that the Texans will add another warm body or two through free agency, the draft, or both.
