The tug-of-war in New York for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is over. After meeting with both the Jets and the Giants over the weekend, DRC made his decision on Monday and decided he wants to wear blue.

The former Broncos cornerback agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Giants, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has confirmed. NFL.com has reported that the new contract is worth up to $39 million and includes $14 million in guaranteed money.

The 27-year-old became expendable in Denver after the Broncos signed former Patriots corner Aqib Talib on March 11, the first day of free agency.

Rodgers-Cromartie started 13 games for the Broncos last season, his first year in Denver. DRC tied for the team lead with three interceptions. One of those three picks came in Week 2, when Rodgers-Cromartie intercepted Eli Manning in Denver's 41-23 win over the Giants.

Three of DRC's 19 career interceptions have actually come against his new teammate. Besides Manning, one other Giants player who will be happy to see Rodgers-Cromartie in New York is safety Antrel Rolle. Rolle tweeted on Monday morning that the Giants 'need' DRC.

Rolle and Rodgers-Cromartie were teammates for three seasons in Arizona (2008-10). In 2009, both players made the Pro Bowl as members of Cardinals' secondary.

The Giants have spent the past 36 hours beefing up their secondary. Besides DRC, New York also agreed to terms with former Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond and former Chiefs safety Quintin Demps over the weekend.
