Already this offseason, CBS Sports has added future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez to its The NFL Today roster. But the network isn't done securing on-air talent.

Trent Green, a 15-year veteran quarterback who made two Pro Bowl teams with the Chiefs, will join CBS Sports as a game analyst, said CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus on Tuesday.

Green, 43, also will contribute to the CBS Sports Network's NFL Monday QB, and the Sunday pre-game show, That Other Pregame Show (TOPS). Green's broadcast partner will be announced at a later date.

“Trent's experience and knowledge of the game, success as an NFL studio analyst and radio broadcaster, combined with his contemporary take on today's NFL, make him a perfect fit to an already deep roster,” said McManus. “We are excited for Trent to join the CBS Sports family.”

Green began his playing career with the Chargers from 1993-94 before spending time with the Redskins (1995-98), Rams (1999-2000, 2008), Chiefs (2000-06) and Dolphins (2007). When he was in Kansas City, he became only the fourth quarterback in history (at the time) to record more than 4,000 passing yards in three-straight seasons, joining Dan Fouts, Peyton Manning and Dan Marino.

In his broadcast career, Green has worked as a game analyst for Fox, a studio analyst for the NFL Network, and a radio analyst for Westwood One for Thursday Night Football.
