Former Florida State standout Greg Reid has again run into legal issues, this time a week after he was signed by the Rams.

According to the Valdosta (Ga.) Police Department, via, Reid was arrested Saturday on March 29 for violating his probation stemming from a 2012 arrest for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.

It wasn't long ago that the cornerback and return specialist appeared destined for NFL stardom. From 2009-2012, Reid was one of Florida State's most dynamic players, but he was dismissed from the team in 2012 after violating the school's three-strike drug policy. He later transferred to Valdosta State, but tore his ACL in the preseason and never played a down for the team. He underwent a second ACL injury in May 2013, and was signed by the Rams last month after a good showing at Florida State's pro day.

“He had a really nice pro day at Florida State,” Rams general manager Les Snead told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch at the time. “When our scouts reported that back, we brought him in on Friday last week. So he went from pro day to our place, had a nice workout. We liked his pedigree.”

The Rams under Jeff Fisher haven't shied away from players with off-field problems, and Reid is the latest.

“He was very productive in college before he had his issues,” Fisher said last week. “His issues are behind him. I personally ran the workout because the coaches were on vacation. I thought he moved well. He understood things. He's got a chance to compete at the nickel corner spot. Outstanding returner, not that we have a need. But had outstanding returns earlier in his career.”

And while it appears that Reid's issues aren't completely behind him, the Rams tell that his arrest won't have any effect on his status.
