The 2014 NFL schedule hasn't yet been released, but the Bills may have spilled the beans on at least one matchup next season. Buried in a story about "13 things to know about 2014 opponents" on BuffaloBills.com, comes this nugget:
"Bills first year defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will make his first visit to Ford Field on the opposing sideline after he served as the Lions' head coach for the previous five years. Buffalo and Detroit will meet for the 10th time in the regular season in 2014. The Bills have played in eight previous Thanksgiving Day games (4-4) in team history with their last appearance on Turkey Day coming in 1994."
So if we're to believe the Bills' website, Buffalo and Detroit will play on Thanksgiving.
FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!
Okay, from the perspective of early April, that doesn't sound like a particularly exciting Turkey Day matchup. Then again, who, 12 months ago, had the Week 11 Monday Night Patriots-Panthers get-together pegged as one of the most exciting games of 2013?
Either way, we'll know one way or another soon enough. And if this game does make its way onto the '14 schedule, let's hope a more exciting story line emerges beyond "Schwartz returns to the place that fired him."
