It's been over 10 days since the Titans released Chris Johnson and the running back, who immediately became a free agent, has yet to find work. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora pegged the Jets as the top candidate to end up signing Johnson all along.
And Tuesday they'll get their chance to land him.
Tennessee reportedly had concerns about Johnson's work ethic when it decided to release him, the Jets reportedly don't have the same such concerns. (Although that may have more to do with the amount of money involved in this potential transaction.)
Johnson makes sense in New York, quite frankly. He'd be an interesting complement with Chris Ivory and would see an opportunity to steal away the majority of carries for the Jets.
There's little chance Johnson wants to go somewhere that won't involve a chance to pick up a lot of carries.
There's also a good chance the Jets could do whatever's necessary to keep CJ2K from going on another visit.
