Days after working out for the Montreal Alouettes, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson has signed with the CFL team.
Chad Johnson, @ochocinco, signed 2yr standard CFL contract w/MTL. No incentives. "He told us he just wanted to play," GM Jim Popp told me— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) April 17, 2014
In 2011, he was traded to the Patriots, where he struggled in limited duty. There he appeared in 15 games and managed just 15 receptions and a single touchdown. Johnson signed with the Dolphins in June 2012, but was released two months later following his arrest on domestic violence charges. He has been out of the NFL since. Last season, he covered the NFL for CBSSports.com
The Alouettes, meanwhile, went 8-10 last season.
