Turns out, it's not just fans and media who abhor the 2014 NFL Draft taking place two weeks later than usual. Bills general manager Doug Whaley thinks the extra fortnight of waiting around isn't worth the hassle, either.

"I'd say, for us, it doesn't help us," Whaley said Friday, via's Mike Rodak. "I'm a firm believer in the saying, 'study long, study wrong.' I like to go with my gut, my gut feeling."

And you'd need a mighty big gut to sustain you till May 8, when the draft will now take place. Instead, Whaley decided to give his staff the week off during the Easter holiday.

"We wanted to get away, clear our brains," the GM said. "We're tired about thinking about it. So we said, 'You know what? Instead of sitting here, banging our heads up against the wall, let's go and refresh ourselves, get ready to attack the last two weeks.'"

And while new Bucs coach Lovie Smith says he appreciates the extra time to prepare for the draft, the majority of people seemed okay with the status quo. The great irony is that the draft didn't need to be moved at all.

So, yeah, that happened.

And in case you're wondering, the latest mock drafts have the Bills choosing from among offensive tackles Taylor Lewin and Jake Matthews or tight end Eric Ebron with the No. 9 pick.
