WATCH: Peyton Manning on 'Late Show' talking 'Omaha,' Bill Belichick

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning made his (likely) final appearance on the 'Late Show' with David Letterman Monday night (Dave's retiring and Stephen Colbert will take his place).

It's been quite the run on the show for Manning, who first appeared with Letteman as a 21-year-old.

Things have ... certainly changed.

But they've kind of stayed the same, you know?

Manning last appeared with Letterman in February of 2007 after the Colts won Super Bowl XLI.

This time around, Manning was talking "Omaha," asked by Dave about all the antics he pulls off at the line of scrimmage. And the Denver quarterback used that moment to complain about parabolic microphones used on television that pick up all the noises.

"The Omaha is kind of out there. These TV mics just pick up everything. I don't like it," Manning said. "I'm not a fan of it, Dave, because it reveals terminology that the other opponent you're going to play the next week can use. I don't like Bill Belichick hearing the plays we're using. I think I know how to fix it, Dave. I think you've got to get up there and say some really negative things about the Commissioner Roger Goodell."

"You know … ‘Blue 20! Blue 20! Roger Goodell is a no good you know what …'" Manning joked. "And I think they'll probably turn that volume down a little bit."

Worth noting: this exchange also featured some shots at Belichick, including one about his "own microphones" from Letterman.

Classic final appearance from one of the funniest "actors" in sports, although if everything breaks right for the Broncos in 2014 he might get to see Dave one more time.
