The Bills are sending wide receiver Stevie Johnson to the San Francisco 49ers for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2015, which could become a third-rounder.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the news Friday.

Once Buffalo traded up in Thursday's first round of the 2014 NFL Draft to grab Sammy Watkins on Thursday, considered the best wide receiver in the draft, the writing was on the wall for Johnson.

Buffalo will recoup the fourth-rounder it sent to Cleveland to move up from No. 9 to No. 4 (it also cost the Bills a 2015 first-rounder). It will also cost them a big chunk of money.

As for Johnson, he'll join a wide receiver corps that includes veteran playmakers Michael Crabtree and Anquan Boldin but lacked depth behind them.

From 2010-12, Johnson averaged more than 1,000 receiving yards a season, but managed 597 yards in 2013 after playing in just 12 games. His best season came in 2010 when he had 82 receptions for 1,073 yards and 10 touchdowns, and ranked 13th in Football Outsiders' WR metric. He also once did this to new division foe Richard Sherman (via Sam Monson).
