The second round of the 2014 NFL Draft is always full of celebrities, typically former NFL players, announcing for their team.
Friday's action will feature a "regular" celebrity as well: Ty Burrell (a.k.a. Phil Dunphy) of "Modern Family" fame will be presenting for the Rams.
"I'll be presenting for our second pick. I'll be presenting the jersey for our second pick to Commissioner Goodell," Burrell said. "I'm basically the equivalent of a ballboy at a tennis match with the jersey. I'll just run up and hand it to him."
So how did he get here? Funny story, since he didn't even grow up really watching the Rams. Turns out his extended family converted him.
"I grew up in Oregon. That part doesn't make sense. All of my extended family was from Southern California," Burrell said. "We became Rams fans. When the team moved to St. Louis it wasn't any big deal to us because we weren't in the same town as our team anyway. So when all those fans jumped off in L.A. we were like … we've never seen them live anyway."
