When the Broncos picked Indiana receiver Cody Latimer in the second round of the NFL draft with the No. 56 overall pick, CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco gave the selection a big thumbs up, writing, "He can be a big-play weapon in a year or so."

But here's some unfortunate news for Denver and Latimer. According to the Denver Post, Latimer will be limited on the field until training camp as he recovers from the broken bone in his foot.

Latimer underwent surgery on his foot on Jan. 19, and all he could do at the NFL combine was the bench press. But he ran a 4.39 40 at his pro day in March, and Denver was impressed enough to select him as a new target for Peyton Manning.

"He's a guy that as you can tell has great size, great demeanor and is going to be a tremendous help and bring great competition to the wide receiver spot," Broncos general manager John Elway said earlier this week. "We plan on him doing great things for us."

Apparently, it'll just take a little longer to get started.
