The Browns needed some wide receiver help and they got it on Thursday in the form of Miles Austin. The former Dallas Cowboys receiver has agreed to terms with Cleveland, the team announced.

The Browns haven't had a lot of luck with receivers lately. The team has one receiver with a broken arm (Nate Burleson), another receiver who might miss the 2014 season due to suspension (Josh Gordon) -- and the Browns didn't draft a receiver, so it kind of made sense to add one.

Austin joins the team along with former Bears receiver Earl Bennett, who was also signed on Thursday.

During eight seasons in Dallas, the injury-riddled Austin was usually productive for the Cowboys, but only when he was healthy. Austin made it through all 16 regular season games three times during his Cowboys career and in those three seasons Austin averaged 72 catches, 1,101 yards and eight touchdowns. Austin also made it to two Pro Bowls in that same time period.

Austin has played in 11 or less games in three of his eight NFL seasons, including 2013, when he missed five games due to an injury that usually involved his hamstring. The Cowboys cut Austin in March.
