If Peyton Manning set up a Google Alert for his name, he probably freaked out Monday morning when a slew of articles about "Peyton Manning arrested on felony drug charges" came swarming into his inbox.
But it wasn't the Broncos quarterback who got busted. It was just an 18-year-old Nashville woman with the same name who ran into the law and lost.
When the young female Manning was pulled over by cops, police "found two mason jars of pot as well as baggies of cocaine dissolving in a cup of Coca-Cola" per The Tennessean.
She was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Based on her age (18), Manning was born in 1996. Given her location (Nashville, Tennessee) and relatively proximity to the place where the older Peyton played college football (Knoxville, Tennessee), it stands to reason she was named after the former Volunteers quarterback, who was at Tennessee in 1996.
Unfortunately she's famous for much worse reasons than her namesake.
