Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid opposes the Redskins name and has made it clear that it should be changed, most recently on Thursday when he -- and 49 other senators -- endorsed a letter imploring the league to do exactly that.
“The NFL can no longer ignore this and perpetuate the use of this name as anything but what it is: a racial slur,” the letter read. "... “We urge you and the National Football League to send the same clear message as the NBA. did: that racism and bigotry have no place in professional sports."
For rapper Wale, this is nothing more than political grandstanding because, well, that's what politicians do.

Basically he tryna use racism to make a bigger name for his self . I'm. Not into politics like that but it's a right an wrong thing— Wale Folarin (@Wale) May 23, 2014
Same dude tht was talkin down on Obama bein a "light skinned" with "me negro dialect " all the sudden is a crusader for what's right in race— Wale Folarin (@Wale) May 23, 2014
The bottom line, as far as Wale is concerned, is all about Reid seizing a chance to promote himself:
Senator Reid don't know anything about Washington team and I doubt he cares he just using a sensitive time to garner attention . Easy call— Wale Folarin (@Wale) May 23, 2014
