The dominoes for the first-round of the 2014 NFL Draft should really start falling soon now that Jadeveon Clowney has signed with the Texans.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle first reported the deal, which the Texans announced on Friday. Clowney, the No. 1 overall pick in May's draft, inked a four-year contract.

Clowney became the 18th first-round pick to sign a contract and, logically, the rest will start filling in now that the No. 1 pick has signed.

His deal, per the new CBA, will also contain a fifth-year team option. McClain reports the deal is worth $22.27 million, slightly up in terms of rookie contracts, but appropriately slotted.

Even though he's transitioning to linebacker in a 3-4 defense (Clowney was primarily a 4-3 rush end at South Carolina), the freakishly athletic Clowney pairing with J.J. Watt should give first-year defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel the ability to wreak havoc on opposing offenses.

Clowney signed crazy early: Eric Fisher of the Chiefs (2013) agreed to his contract on July 26 last year while 2012's top pick, Andrew Luck of the Colts, signed on July 19.
