The 2014 Belmont Stakes will be run on Saturday evening, and California Chrome will seek to win the first Triple Crown in nearly 40 years.

Before the main event though, there will be an NFL flavor of sorts: Wes Welker's horse, Undrafted, will run in one of the undercard races at Belmont.

Undrafted is on the card for a race set to post at 1:16 p.m. ET, featuring a $300,000 purse:

Welker's potential presence is particularly interesting since one of the last times we saw him at a race he was handing out $100 bills to patrons thanks to a Kentucky Derby clerical error.

Unfortunately for all the folks hoping for freebies, Welker won't attend. The Boston Globe reports Welker's going to be a no-show for the race.

But he still has a pretty good chance at bringing home some bacon.
