More NFL offseason: League minicamp dates | Latest news, notes

Troubled Jets running back Mike Goodson didn't show for the first day of mandatory minicamp and coach Rex Ryan was unimpressed. ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini described the usually affable Ryan as "miffed," adding that the team had no idea why Goodson wasn't in Florham Park Tuesday.

"I recognize the fact that he's not here, and that situation will be dealt with," Ryan said, adding that he's never had a player -- even Darrelle Revis, who missed much of the 2010 training camp because of a holdout -- skip a mandatory minicamp.

This latest development would seem to be the last straw in the Jets' relationship with Goodson, who signed a three-year, $6.9 million deal last offseason before a earning four-game suspension to begin the '13 season. He played in just two games before suffering an ACL injury, and then there are the weapons charges stemming from a November indictment.

"Let's just see what happens," Ryan said about Goodson's future with the team. "I've basically said all I'm going to say about it. We'll just talk about the guys that are here."

Goodson's agent, Kennard McGuire, released a statement, though it made no mention of the running back's Tuesday whereabouts.

"Mike must be accountable and responsible for his own actions and comprehend not only effective communication but simple communication," McGuire said.

The Jets appear to be set at running back; they signed Chris Johnson in April, and Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory were already on the roster.

Since coming to New York 16 months ago, Goodson has a total of 11 touches for 80 yards. A 2009 fourth-round pick, he spent the first four years of his career in Carolina, where he rushed for 501 yards in 28 games (4.0 YPC), had 329 receiving yards (7.7 YPR) and scored three touchdowns.
