That was fast. The 49ers haven't opened up Levi's Stadium yet and they already sold out of season tickets for 2014, the team announced.
As such, the team is offering up some additional standing-room only tickets for single games.
"When it was evident our season tickets would sell out, we began to investigate other ways to provide our fans a different way to see Levi's Stadium and support the team,” 49ers COO Al Guido said. "Levi's Stadium has the infrastructure to comfortably and safely accommodate standing room only tickets for our games, and we're glad to have additional fans there to cheer us on."
One thousand five hundred tickets will be available by registering at Faithful49.com and participating in a rewards program.
In other words, the 49ers are just printing extra money at this point.
It's a culmination of team success, a smartly-run organization and a new, high-tech stadium. People want to come see what this place is offering and it doesn't hurt the 49ers are set up in close proximity to an area of significant "new money" in Silicon Valley.
Now Jim Harbaugh's team just needs to get over that pesky "win a Super Bowl" hump.
