With baseball off, it being football offseason and somehow no professional sporting events scheduled for Wednesday night, the ESPYs were held in Los Angeles. Many athletes showed up, including the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Lots of attention was paid to them, be it Richard Sherman winning "Breakthrough Athlete" (which is kind of dumb since he's been good for a while but whatever) or Russell Wilson presenting with Jessica Alba (tough life, guy). No one drew as much attention as Walter Thurmond however.
That's because the Seahawks cornerback strolled the red carpet and took the stage wearing a golden "short suit" which is exactly what you'd think it would be.
It's a bold move for sure. And while I fully endorse loafers with no socks and loafers with shorts, I'm not on board with any sort of notion that the "short suit" is making a comeback.
And not just because you've got to be somewhere in order to return.
Gotta respect the gold though.
