Justin Blackmon's career in Jacksonville has been a bumpy one so far. Since being drafted fifth overall by the Jaguars in April 2012, Blackmon has been suspended twice, he pled guilty to a DUI charge and most recently, he was charged with possession of marijuana on Wednesday.

However, despite all of the trouble, Jaguars owner Shad Khan said his team has no plans to release Blackmon. For now, Jacksonville's plan is to help him.

"We want to keep him as a player," Khan said Thursday, via the Florida Times-Union. "He's not a part of the team now, obviously, but it's very important for him to get the help. It's the most important thing."

For anyone wondering why the team might continue to stick by Blackmon, keep in mind that there's no risk involved for the Jaguars. The team doesn't owe Blackmon any money while he's suspended and he won't take up a roster spot.

Plus, Khan seems to be adamant about helping the former first-round pick.

"We want him to get help and really beat this," Khan said.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley echoed Khan's sentiments Thursday.

"We haven't had much contact with him," Bradley said. "I'm just praying that he gets the help he needs. I'm just praying that he gets right."

Blackmon has been suspended from the NFL since November when the league banned him indefinitely after a substance-abuse violation. That suspension came only seven months after Blackmon was hit with a four-game suspension in April 2013. In all, Blackmon only played in four games with the Jaguars last season.

In 20 career games with Jacksonville, Blackmon has 93 receptions for 1,280 yards and six touchdowns.
