So much for a new contract for Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Lions president Tom Lewand told reporters on Monday that discussions for a new deal will be tabled until after the season.

Obviously, that isn't a great sign for the team if it actually wants to keep the man who's accumulated 27.5 sacks in his first four seasons and has been a terror for opponents' offensive line for much (but not all) of his career.

Suh will make $12.55 million this season in the final year of his contract, and Lewand hasn't ruled out slapping Suh with the franchise tag in 2015. Except there's almost no chance that can happen.

Despite the reports from the offseason that the Lions were considering trading Suh, Lewand again emphasized that the team hasn't talked about making that move.
