On Wednesday, a day after David Wilson suffered a neck stinger and was expected to miss this weekend's Hall of Fame game, the Giants' third-year running back tweeted that he was OK.

"Left practice early yesterday but everything turned out to be fine once the [doctor] looked [at] me plus I passed all physical examination. I find out more on Monday," he said.

But multiple sources tell the Newark Star-Ledger that months after Wilson underwent spinal fusion surgery, and coupled with his latest setback Tuesday, the former first-round pick "needs a miracle" to return to the playing field.

For now, all the Giants and Wilson can do is wait until Monday, when he will be examined by doctors for an official determination on his condition.

“We were praying that it would be not an issue," coach Tom Coughlin said earlier in the week, "that he would be able to come back and just go to work and he was cleared, as you know."

With Wilson's status still to be decided, the Giants' backfield includes Rashad Jennings, Peyton Hillis, Michael Cox and Andre Williams.
