The feud between the Vikings and former punter Chris Kluwe apparently is over now that the two sides have reached an out-of-court settlement, according to multiple media outlets.

Ever since the Vikings released Kluwe after the 2012 season, the relationship between the two sides has been nasty.

Kluwe wrote in a Deadspin piece last January that special teams coach Mike Priefer had made gay slurs at him, and this past summer, Kluwe said he was planning to sue the team for $10 million for defamation of character and emotional distress if the organization didn't punish Priefer.

Eventually, Priefer was suspended for three games, and on Friday, Kluwe's lawyer told media outlets that his client and the Vikings had reached a settlement.

Lawyer Clayton Halunen also said the two sides would hold a joint press conference next week in order to divulge the details of the settlement.

Asked by USA Today if the settlement means the lawsuit will not go forward, Halunen said, "Absolutely."
