Johnny Manziel is competing against Brian Hoyer to be the Browns' Week 1 starter. While many people think Manziel could -- should? -- win the competition, at least one person doesn't think he's ready right now.
That person is Johnny Manziel.
"I don't think I'm ready for Pittsburgh right now," Manziel told reporters Saturday. "I've only played one game."
That doesn't mean he can't get ready, though. He just thinks he needs more reps in order to prepare for the Steelers (and Dick LeBeau, who is notorious for terrorizing rookie quarterbacks the first time around).
Manziel: I don't want that taken out of context. I can get ready. Right now it's second week of preseason.— Zac Jackson (@FSOhioZJackson) August 16, 2014
Sorry about that, Johnny. Probably should've seen this coming though, you know?
Also, are we on the same planet when it comes to expectations and pressure? Because I'm not sure we are.

Who does this kid think he is, Blake Bortles?
Ultimately whether he's ready or not might be irrelevant. The coaching staff looks fairly determined to use Hoyer, particularly to start the season. And it's not the worst thing in the world if Manziel ends up not playing Week 1.
