Sammy Watkins practiced this week for the Bills, but apparently the team doesn't want to risk his health in a game. Buffalo announced on Saturday that Watkins won't be suiting up for the team's preseason game against the Buccaneers.

Watkins injured his ribs in the first quarter of Buffalo's preseason game against the Steelers on Aug. 16. The fourth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft didn't return to the game after the injury.

Although Watkins did practice this week, he was limited in each workout and the Bills finally made the decision not to play him against Tampa Bay. With only one preseason game remaining after Saturday, don't plan on seeing Watkins again until the Bills' regular season opener at Chicago.

In three preseason games of action, Watkins has totaled three catches for 21 yards.
