For the second year in a row, Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has suffered a torn ACL. Bradford underwent an MRI on Sunday that showed a torn ACL in his left knee, Rams coach Jeff Fisher confirmed.

The injury means Bradford will miss the entire 2014 season, "Unfortunately, I can confirm that we have lost Sam for the year," Fisher said. "Very, very disappointed for Sam."

The 26-year-old quarterback went down in the first quarter against the Browns on Saturday after taking a hit from Cleveland defensive lineman Armonty Bryant. Bradford was clutching his left knee as he went down, the same knee that he had ACL surgery on last season.

Bradford missed nine games last season after tearing his ACL in Week 7. The Rams quarterback also missed six games in 2011 with a variety of injuries, including a high ankle sprain.

After suffering the injury against Cleveland, Bradford actually walked off the field on his own power. He even told teammate Brian Quick that he thought he was OK. "I was a little nervous about it, but everything is all right. Sam told me that he's OK," Quick said after the game.

Bradford was 4 of 9 for 77 yards against the Browns before he went down with the injury.

With Bradford now out for the year, that means the reins to the St. Louis offense will be handed to backup quarterback Shaun Hill. Hill is entering his 13th year in the league and signed with the Rams after stints in Minnesota (2002-05), San Francisco (2006-09) and Detroit (2010-13).

Hill has made 26 starts in his career and has an even .500 record at 13-13. And for now, it seems like the Rams are content with making Hill the starting quarterback, "We move forward as a football team. Shaun is our guy," Fisher said.

If the Rams decide they don't want to go with Hill, they have a few marginal options in free agency. The team could sign Josh Freeman, Kyle Orton or Tyler Thigpen.

There are also a few trades the Rams could look into. Eagles coach Chip Kelly said last week that he'd listen to offers for Mark Sanchez, but also added that "it better be a pretty good deal in terms of what it is."

The Rams could also gauge the Redskins' interest in trading Kirk Cousins. Jay Gruden could get himself out of a possible quarterback controversy in Washington if he's willing to dump Cousins.

Former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann said on Saturday that he thought Cousins was outplaying Redskins starter Robert Griffin III. Gruden insisted since the day he was hired though that RG3 is the team's starting quarterback.
