The Seahawks' wallet is a little lighter Tuesday and so is coach Pete Carroll's with the team and coach getting fined heavily by the NFL for excessive contact in practice, according to a report.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports Carroll was fined "at least" $100,000 and the Seahawks were hit with "in excess of $200,000" in fines for too much contact during a June 16 practice.

Additionally, the Seahawks will lose two days of minicamp for the excessive contact.

This isn't Carroll and the Seahawks first run-in with the NFL's law -- Seattle was hit with a penalty for live contact during OTAs in 2012.

On the other hand, you could argue the fines are totally worth it, with Seattle winning the Super Bowl this past season thanks in large part to their aggressive, prepared, hard-hitting defense.

The 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement prohibits the Seahawks from such contact during practice.
