Facing the absence of Darnell Dockett for the entire 2014 season after the defensive tackle tore his ACL in the preseason, the Cardinals have signed 10-year veteran Tommy Kelly to a one-year contract.
Kelly spent most of his career with the Raiders, starting most every game he played, before signing with the Patriots before the 2013 season. He played five games before being placed on the IR list, and New England cut him earlier this week.
Which led him to say this.
Tommy Kelly on reason for his release: "I don't know but I enjoy my time and my teammates. I have no problem moving along with my career."— Tom E. Curran (@tomecurran) August 24, 2014
And now he has.
To make room for Kelly, Arizona released defensive lineman Ryan McBean.
