Report: Josh Gordon thinking about the CFL, Browns say nope

Would Josh Gordon go north of the border to play?. (USATSI)

When the NFL upheld the one-year drug suspension for Browns receiver Josh Gordon on Wednesday, the decision gave the league's leading receiver from 2013 plenty to think about.

Reportedly, Gordon is thinking about suing the league, and now, he might be pondering the idea of continuing his career temporarily in the Canadian Football League, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

That'd be an interesting development -- and potentially a career-saver for Gordon, who would need permission from the Browns in order to do so.

But here's the dagger.

And this.

Much has been made since Gordon failed yet another drug test and then was charged with DUI this offseason that he would do best to have a tight structure around him to keep him out of trouble.

But the NFL said he can't be around his team during his suspension -- even though the Browns reportedly asked about that possibility -- and there are plenty of people worried about Gordon's future if he is left to wander on his own.

Perhaps a season north of the border would keep him in shape physically and mentally. But -- and this is understandably so -- it sounds like Cleveland has no interest in that.
