Out of nowhere Thursday, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady showed up on the team's injury report with some kind of calf injury.
It's the sort of thing to anyone rooting for the Pats or just Brady into a weird, mental place. Fret not -- Brady says he'll "be ready to go Sunday."
“Physically I had the day off, but I got a lot of extra film in," Brady told Jim Gray in an interview Thursday. "I got a lot of extra mental reps in and walk-throughs and such and I'll be ready to go Sunday."
Not that anyone expected anything different. Brady's been on the injury report every week for the last 14 years*, usually because of a "right shoulder" injury.
The Pats are notorious for playing mind games with the injury report. Any injury to Brady is obviously a concern but fanning the flames of worry over Brady randomly popping up on the injury report Thursday is unnecessary.
He'll be ready to play and -- assuming Rob Gronkowski is more accurate about his own injury than Bill Belichick and ends up with a reasonable number of snaps -- he'll probably play well.
