Early Super Bowl 50 Line, Odds: Patriots favored over everyone

Early Super Bowl 50 Line, Odds: Patriots favored over everyone

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Super Bowl 50 is just about two weeks away (and you can stream it on CBS!) and we already know what the potential matchups will be.

We also know what the potential early line will be for Super Bowl 50. The Westgate Las Vegas released early lines based on the possible outcomes of the NFC and AFC Championship Games this week and in all cases the Patriots will be favored.

Here are the four possible lines:

New England Patriots -1 vs. Arizona Cardinals (over/under 49)

New England Patriots -1 vs. Carolina Panthers (over/under 47.5)

Carolina Panthers -3 vs. Denver Broncos (over/under 43)

Arizona Cardinals -3 vs. Denver Broncos (over/under 44.5)

So, yeah, safe to say Vegas sees both the Cardinals and Panthers as pretty similar -- or at least similarly dangerous -- teams. It shouldn't be surprising, with the Panthers a 3-point favorite at home over Arizona in the NFC Championship Game.

It's also not surprising to see the Broncos as an underdog. Peyton Manning has looked like a game manager at best this year. Even with their defense, it's clear the NFC is the more dangerous conference right now.

Part of the Pats line could also be the likelihood of the public getting behind New England quickly. They're always a popular public bet.

If scoring is your thing, note you're probably rooting for the Pats to win against Denver. Tom Brady and company are projected to score more points and/or allow more points in what would likely be a more entertaining Super Bowl.

The Patriots would be favorites in San Francisco. (USATSI)
