Despite a recent second Super Bowl title with the Denver Broncos, the debate between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady feels largely put to bed. Brady's rings and playoff success trump Manning's résumé even with another title added.
Talib, appearing on an NFL Network clip, wasn't specifically asked to compare the two, but was told to fill in the blanks on Brady and Manning.
“Tom Brady is ... a four-time Super Bowl winner,” Talib said. “Great teammate, great guy, great person.”
Asked immediately after about Manning, Talib threw out higher praise.
“Peyton Manning is the G.O.A.T., greatest of all time,” Talib said. “Super Bowl 50 champ.”

The second fact isn't debatable. Manning won Super Bowl 50 -- or at least was on the winning team. But G.O.A.T. status?
It's hard to fathom putting Manning in the same class as Brady and Joe Montana given their Super Bowl titles.
Quarterback wins and the luck involving Super Bowls get a little overrated when we talk about legacy but they at least serve as a pretty strong tiebreaker in a case like this.
And Talib's a little biased as Manning's teammate, but it's hard to buy into his argument.
