MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014

Arizona
Cardinals
17
This is a huge game for the Cardinals against a team that has really come on the past month. The Rams have two consecutive shutouts, and the Cardinals haven't been good on offense on the road with Drew Stanton. This will be a defensive battle, but I think the Cardinals find a way behind their defense.
Result: Arizona Cardinals 12, St. Louis Rams 6

Atlanta
Falcons
32
The Steelers are coming off a nice road victory at Cincinnati, but they are playing consecutive road games, and Atlanta seems to have found its way on offense. If Julio Jones is down, that will hurt in a big way, but I still think the Steelers' pass defense will struggle here. Atlanta takes it in an upset.
Result: Atlanta Falcons 20, Pittsburgh Steelers 27
Pittsburgh
Steelers

Baltimore
Ravens
30
The Jaguars have major issues on the offensive line, especially in pass protection, and that's never a good thing against the Ravens. Baltimore will get after Blake Bortles in a big way. Joe Flacco and the Baltimore offense will use two turnovers to blow this game open. It's ugly for the Jaguars.
Result: Baltimore Ravens 20, Jacksonville Jaguars 12
Jacksonville
Jaguars

Green Bay
Packers
23
The Packers will face a stiff challenge to their offense in the Bills' pass rush. But Aaron Rodgers is so good at escaping pressure, which will lead to some big plays down the field. The short week will hurt the Packers some, but they will find a way behind the hot offense and Rodgers.
Result: Green Bay Packers 13, Buffalo Bills 21
Buffalo

Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
20
The Panthers found something last week in New Orleans, and they are still alive in the playoff chase. The Cam Newton situation after his car accident Tuesday could mean he's out for a while. The Bucs are eliminated, and they are playing a second straight road game. That's tough. If Newton can't go, the Panthers will be in trouble. I doubt he does.
Result: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17, Carolina Panthers 19

Cincinnati
Bengals
21
This is a huge game in the division, and it will be Johnny Manziel's first NFL start for the Browns. The Bengals lead it by a half game. Cincinnati has played much better on the road than at home. Cleveland blew out the Bengals in Cincinnati, but the Bengals bounce back here with a nice game from the defense after a horror show against the Steelers. Johnny Football can't win this one.
Result: Cincinnati Bengals 30, Cleveland Browns 0
Cleveland

Indianapolis
Colts
31
The Colts can lock up the division by winning this one, while the Texans can make it a race with a victory here. The Colts beat the Texans by six earlier this season in Houston, and the Texans are on the road for a second consecutive week. Andrew Luck vs. Ryan Fitzpatrick? That makes for an easy decision.
Result: Indianapolis Colts 17, Houston Texans 10
Houston

Kansas City
Chiefs
21
The Raiders beat the Chiefs three weeks ago, and now face a Chiefs team trying to salvage its playoff chances. That won't be easy, even if Oakland is 2-11. The Raiders looked good last week beating San Francisco, and the Chiefs offense is limited. I think it's tighter than expected, but Kansas City will get a few turnovers for short fields to win it.
Result: Kansas City Chiefs 31, Oakland Raiders 13
Oakland

New England
Patriots
29
The Dolphins are essentially playing for their season here. They beat the Patriots in the opener, but that was a long time ago. This New England team is much better and is coming off a nice road victory at San Diego. The Miami defense has had trouble with the run lately -- 28th in yards per attempt -- and that will show up. Tom Brady will kill them with play-action. Patriots take it.
Result: New England Patriots 41, Miami Dolphins 13
Miami

New York
Giants
30
This is a game of two teams going nowhere, maybe with two coaches getting the boot. The Giants showed some life last week against the Titans, while the Redskins are coming off a shutout home loss. This could be the return of Robert Griffin III at quarterback if Colt McCoy can't go. It won't matter. Giants take it.
Result: NY Giants 24, Washington Redskins 13
Washington
Redskins

Denver
Broncos
27
This is a huge game in the division, but also a huge game in terms of San Diego's playoff chances. The Chargers face a tough closing stretch, and after losing to New England they have to be better here. The Broncos are running the ball better, but I think this is the week they get the passing game cranked up again. Broncos take it.
Result: Denver Broncos 22, San Diego Chargers 10
San Diego
Chargers

New York
Jets
21
This is a dog game featuring two teams playing for next year. The Titans have had trouble on defense the past two weeks, but the Jets aren't exactly a powerful offense. Even so, I think the Jets showed something playing hard at Minnesota last week. They find a way here.
Result: NY Jets 16, Tennessee Titans 11
Tennessee
Titans

Detroit
Lions
24
The Lions can win the NFC North by winning out. It will start here. The Vikings have won consecutive games, but this is a big step up in competition and it's on the road. Look for the Detroit defense to get after Teddy Bridgewater. Lions take it.
Result: Detroit Lions 16, Minnesota Vikings 14
Minnesota
Vikings

Seattle
Seahawks
23
When these two teams met on Thanksgiving night, the Seahawks beat the 49ers 19-3 and they are surging. The 49ers lost to Oakland last week. That's a bad sign. The 49ers are playing for their season here, so they will battle and fight. They just aren't good enough. It will be closer than expected, though.
Result: Seattle Seahawks 17, San Francisco 49ers 7
San Francisco
49ers

Dallas
Cowboys
28
This will likely decide the division winner. The Eagles dominated the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas, but I think this will be different. I think the 10 days off, after playing last Thursday, will help the Cowboys. They will be much better prepared on defense this time around. Tony Romo wins another December game.
Result: Dallas Cowboys 38, Philadelphia Eagles 27

Chicago
Bears
30
These have to be considered two of the biggest flops so far this season. Amazingly, the Saints are still alive in the playoff chase. They just aren't good. The defenses here are a disaster. The Saints aren't good outside either. That shows up. The Bears find a way.
Result: Chicago Bears 15, New Orleans Saints 31
New Orleans
Saints
