MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013

Miami
Dolphins
24
The Dolphins are riding high, but they have had some trouble in Buffalo over the years. The Bills won last week in Jacksonville, but this is a big challenge for their offensive line. I think Ryan Tannehill will stay hot for Miami and the Dolphins keep on rolling.
Result: Miami Dolphins 0, Buffalo Bills 19
Buffalo
Bills
17

Carolina
Panthers
27
This is essentially for the division title and a chance to play host to a playoff game. The Saints got the Panthers two weeks ago, but this is in Carolina. That defensive front will get after Drew Brees. And the Saints are also playing consecutive road games. That's always tough. The Panthers take it behind Cam Newton.
Result: Carolina Panthers 17, New Orleans Saints 13
New Orleans
Saints
21

Cincinnati
Bengals
33
The Bengals laid an egg in Pittsburgh this past week, so look for a focused team here. They are 6-0 at home and that will show up in terms of their offense. They score a lot more at their place. Minnesota has defensive woes. Look for the Bengals to get an easy one.
Result: Cincinnati Bengals 42, Minnesota Vikings 14
Minnesota
Vikings
17

Denver
Broncos
35
The Broncos are coming off a tough loss to the Chargers at home. That will help them get their focus back here. The Texans aren't very good and Peyton Manning will light them up. Broncos take an easy one on the road.
Result: Denver Broncos 37, Houston Texans 13
Houston
Texans
20

Jacksonville
Jaguars
27
The Jaguars upset the Titans for their first victory a month ago on the road. Now the Titans will try and avoid a sweep. The Jaguars are without some key players. How focused will Tennessee be playing meaningless road game? The Jaguars get another victory and sweep one of their rivals.
Result: Jacksonville Jaguars 16, Tennessee Titans 20
Tennessee
Titans
23

Kansas City
Chiefs
28
The Colts showed better last week against the Texans, but this is a step up. The Chiefs are playing well on offense, but the defense is struggling. Can Andrew Luck take advantage of that? I think the Chiefs are focused here and take this one with a rebound defensive effort.
Result: Kansas City Chiefs 7, Indianapolis Colts 23
Indianapolis
Colts
20

New York
Jets
17
Both these teams have been eliminated from the playoffs, so they are playing for pride. The Jets are at home, which will make that easier to do. Look for the Jets to find a way to win an ugly game. Geno Smith does just enough.
Result: NY Jets 24, Cleveland Browns 13
Cleveland
Browns
14

St. Louis
Rams
21
The Rams got all over Drew Brees last week. They will do the same to Mike Glennon. That pass rush is special. The Rams will do enough on offense to win this game between two teams playing for 2014.
Result: St. Louis Rams 23, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13
Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
13

Dallas
Cowboys
35
This will be the Redskins' Super Bowl. They would like nothing more than to knock the Cowboys out of the playoffs. It will be up to Kirk Cousins to do it. He had a good game last week, and the Cowboys are bad on defense. But I see Tony Romo quieting his critics here. Cowboys win a shootout.
Result: Dallas Cowboys 24, Washington Redskins 23
Washington
Redskins
30

Detroit
Lions
30
The Giants are playing out the string and they are a disaster on offense. The Lions need to win their last two to have a chance. But how good are they? The Giants' offensive line is a disaster, and Eli Manning is struggling, which is a concern. But they will hang around. The Lions just aren't that good.
Result: Detroit Lions 20, NY Giants 23
New York
Giants
27

Seattle
Seahawks
23
The Cardinals need to win their last two to have a chance to make the playoffs. This won't be easy. Seattle is unbeaten at home. They get after it in a big way at home. If the Cards want to show they are truly a playoff team, they need to show they can win here. They won't.
Result: Seattle Seahawks 10, Arizona Cardinals 17
Arizona
Cardinals
14

Green Bay
Packers
26
The big issue here is whether Aaron Rodgers plays. We won't know that until the end of the week. The Steelers are playing good football, so this won't be easy with or without Rodgers. No matter what, I think the Packers find a way, especially if it's Rodgers under center.
Result: Green Bay Packers 31, Pittsburgh Steelers 38
Pittsburgh
Steelers
21

San Diego
Chargers
33
The Chargers have a chance to make the playoffs with two victories -- although they need help. They will be rested after playing Denver on a Thursday. The Raiders are coming off a horrible loss to the Chiefs. The defense was horrible. Philip Rivers lights them up.
Result: San Diego Chargers 26, Oakland Raiders 13
Oakland
Raiders
21

New England
Patriots
23
The Ravens impressed with a tough road victory Monday night in Detroit. But this is a short week against a Patriots team coming off a loss. They don't lose consecutive games too often. They won’t here either. Tom Brady will do enough to find a way to win.
Result: New England Patriots 41, Baltimore Ravens 7
Baltimore
Ravens
17

Chicago
Bears
31
The Eagles might not need this game to clinch the NFC East by the time they kick off, depending on what Dallas does earlier in the day. The Bears will need it. They are playing consecutive road games, which is tough. But I think Jay Cutler responds with a big day against the Eagles' suspect pass defense.
Result: Chicago Bears 11, Philadelphia Eagles 54
Philadelphia
Eagles

San Francisco
49ers
27
This is a far different game from the last time they met, in stature and in terms of where Atlanta is as a team. The 49ers seem to be rolling and while Atlanta is playing better, this is a tough task. They start a lot of rookies, two on their offensive line. That can be a problem against the 49ers. San Francisco rolls.
Result: San Francisco 49ers 34, Atlanta Falcons 24
Atlanta
Falcons
