MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Thursday, Sep. 17, 2015

Denver
Broncos
20
The Broncos beat Baltimore, but didn't look good doing so, while the Chiefs looked dominating against the Texans. But this is a division game, and the Broncos will get back to letting Peyton Manning throw from the pocket. That's the wise thing to do. Broncos take it.
Result: Denver Broncos 31, Kansas City Chiefs 24
Kansas City
Chiefs

New England
Patriots
24
This is one of the best games of the week. Rex Ryan vs. Tom Brady is always a treat. Tyrod Taylor did some good things against the Colts, but Bill Belichick will have 10 days to prepare. That matters. Patriots go to 2-0.
Result: New England Patriots 40, Buffalo Bills 32
Buffalo
Bills
17

Carolina
Panthers
27
The Texans need to get back on track, but who will be the quarterback? Bill O'Brien said he would not name a starter until kickoff. Whoever he does pick has to be better than a week ago. Carolina didn't look great in beating Jacksonville, but they found a way. They will here too as Cam Newton will make enough plays to win it.
Result: Carolina Panthers 24, Houston Texans 17
Houston
Texans

Arizona
Cardinals
20
The Cardinals go on the road for the first time after beating New Orleans at home, while the Bears will be playing at home for the second straight week. The Cardinals will be without running back Andre Ellington, but Chris Johnson and David Johnson will be fine. Look for Carson Palmer to have another big day throwing it as the Cardinals get to 2-0.
Result: Arizona Cardinals 48, Chicago Bears 23
Chicago
Bears
13

Cincinnati
Bengals
28
The Bengals were as impressive as any team in the league last week, while the Chargers impressed coming from way behind to beat the Lions. But this is Cincinnati's home opener and that defensive front will get all over Philip Rivers. Bengals take it.
Result: Cincinnati Bengals 24, San Diego Chargers 19
San Diego
Chargers
20

Cleveland
Browns
21
Marcus Mariota was really good in his first game, throwing four touchdown passes. Now there is tape on him. The Browns will scheme to stop him. That will make it tougher. Johnny Manziel will likely start for the Browns. With a full week to get ready, he will be better. Browns in an upset.
Result: Cleveland Browns 28, Tennessee Titans 14
Tennessee
Titans
17

Minnesota
Vikings
21
The Lions have to be reeling after blowing a big lead at San Diego, but Minnesota has to be one of the biggest disappointments in Week 1, losing to the 49ers. Now they get home with a division game that will test them in a big way. But consecutive road games for the Lions is tough, so Minnesota will bounce back with a better offensive showing.
Result: Minnesota Vikings 26, Detroit Lions 16
Detroit
Lions
17

New Orleans
Saints
33
Jameis Winston had a horrible first start last week, and now must make his first road start in a tough venue. The Saints lost at Arizona, and have a lot of problems on defense. Even so, they will bounce back against a Bucs team that has a long way to go. New Orleans has won five straight against Tampa Bay. Make it six.
Result: New Orleans Saints 19, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26
Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
20

New York
Giants
30
The Giants suffered a tough loss Sunday night to Dallas, while the Falcons impressed in beating the Eagles on Monday night. The Atlanta defense showed big flaws in the second half, and that will show up here. The Giants offense gets rolling in their home opener. Work on that clock management, though.
Result: NY Giants 20, Atlanta Falcons 24
Atlanta
Falcons
27

Pittsburgh
Steelers
26
The 49ers impressed in a big way Monday night, beating the Vikings at home. The defense played well, but this is a big step up in terms of an offense. The Steelers were bad on defense against the Patriots, but they will show better here. Short week will hurt the 49ers.
Result: Pittsburgh Steelers 43, San Francisco 49ers 18
San Francisco
49ers

17
The Rams looked dominant on defense last week against Seattle. That front got all over Russell Wilson, and he's mobile. This week, they do the same to Kirk Cousins. The Redskins have to hope here that the Rams will have a letdown after putting so much into beating Seattle. It won't happen.
Result: St. Louis Rams 10, Washington Redskins 24
Washington
Redskins
13

Miami
Dolphins
27
The Dolphins are playing consecutive road games outside the division, but this is a short trip. They didn't look great in beating Washington last week, but the Jaguars did nothing on offense. That could be big trouble against a Miami front that can get after the quarterback. The Dolphins go to 2-0.
Result: Miami Dolphins 20, Jacksonville Jaguars 23
Jacksonville
Jaguars
24

Baltimore
Ravens
30
The Ravens are playing consecutive road games, which is a challenge, both being a long way from home. But the Raiders were terrible in losing to the Bengals, and should be without Derek Carr. That's trouble. The Ravens get back on track after losing to the Broncos.
Result: Baltimore Ravens 33, Oakland Raiders 37
Oakland
Raiders
17

Philadelphia
Eagles
31
The Cowboys will not have Dez Bryant, which will show up big time. The Eagles are playing on a short week, but this is their home opener. The Cowboys are a good road team, winning nine of their last 10, but not here. The Eagles will bounce back behind a big offensive showing. The Cowboys won't keep up.
Result: Philadelphia Eagles 10, Dallas Cowboys 20
Dallas
Cowboys
27

Green Bay
Packers
21
This is a rematch of the NFC Championship Game that was a classic. If this one is close to that in terms of excitement, we will all be happy. The Seahawks are playing consecutive road games. That's tough. It's even tougher at Lambeau. The Seattle offensive line is bad right now, and that will show up. Aaron Rodgers will beat the Seahawks to drop them to 0-2.
Result: Green Bay Packers 27, Seattle Seahawks 17
Seattle

Indianapolis
Colts
23
This is a tough spot for the Jets. They get a wounded team playing a home opener. The Colts will bounce back after their awful showing at Buffalo. The Jets defense did some good things, but without Antonio Cromartie they will be tested down the field. Andrew Luck bounces back.
Result: Indianapolis Colts 7, NY Jets 20
New York
Jets
10
