MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013

Minnesota
Vikings
30
This shapes up as a game with a lot of points. Both teams have bad defenses. I look for a big game here from Adrian Peterson against the Washington run defense. Robert Griffin III will make some plays down the field on the other side. But I see the Vikings taking this in a bit of an upset.
Result: Minnesota Vikings 34, Washington Redskins 27

Seattle
Seahawks
24
This is a rematch of a playoff game from last January, which was won by Atlanta, but the Falcons hardly look like the same team. Injuries have crippled them and they are basically done. The Seahawks looked lifeless early against the Bucs last week, but battled back. Seattle's offense has struggled some lately. That will help Atlanta stay around.
Result: Seattle Seahawks 33, Atlanta Falcons 10
Atlanta
Falcons

Cincinnati
Bengals
23
The Ravens might be playing for their playoff lives here. The Bengals, though, are playing consecutive road games. And they will be without Geno Atkins the rest of the way. But that Ravens offensive line isn't good. The Bengals front is good. That's a mismatch. Bengals take it on a late field goal.
Result: Cincinnati Bengals 17, Baltimore Ravens 20
Baltimore
Ravens

Detroit
Lions
30
The Bears showed some life in winning at Green Bay, something I didn't think they could do, even if Aaron Rodgers did go down. The Lions are coming off a bye here. The Chicago defense isn't very good, and the Lions offense is good. That's the mismatch here. I see the Lions winning this with Matthew Stafford having a huge day, despite the talk Jay Cutler might be back.
Result: Detroit Lions 21, Chicago Bears 19
Chicago
Bears

Green Bay
Packers
27
We might find out how ordinary the Packers are without Aaron Rodgers. They will start Seneca Wallace here against the Eagles. The good news is the Eagles aren't good on defense and they are playing consecutive road games. They will keep it close. Even with Wallace, I think the Packers find a way in a tight one.
Result: Green Bay Packers 13, Philadelphia Eagles 27
Philadelphia
Eagles

Indianapolis
Colts
30
The Rams are reeling, while the Colts are surging. The Colts showed they could still throw it without Reggie Wayne last week against the Texans. That will continue against a Rams secondary that is suspect. Andrew Luck has another big day.
Result: Indianapolis Colts 8, St. Louis Rams 38
St. Louis
Rams
21

New York
Giants
31
The Giants are coming off a bye with three consecutive home games and a chance to get back into the playoff mix. The Raiders were horrible last week against the Eagles. What happened to that defense? Now Eli Manning lights them up.
Result: NY Giants 24, Oakland Raiders 20
Oakland
Raiders
17

Pittsburgh
Steelers
27
The Steelers will be playing for whatever little chance of a postseason they have left here. They were terrible at New England, but I expect a bit of a bounce back. EJ Manuel is back as the starter for the Bills, but that won't matter. The Steelers take it easily.
Result: Pittsburgh Steelers 23, Buffalo Bills 10
Buffalo
Bills
17

Tennessee
Titans
27
The Jaguars are coming off a bye to start their second half, and the schedule gets a bit more favorable. Does it matter? This team is limited on offense, and can't stop anybody on defense. The Titans have a real chance to be a playoff team. They got Chris Johnson going last week, and that will continue. This is a blowout.
Result: Tennessee Titans 27, Jacksonville Jaguars 29
Jacksonville
Jaguars
10

San Francisco
49ers
23
The Panthers are on a four-game winning streak that has them in the playoff hunt. They are doing it with a physical style of defense. To beat a tough team like the 49ers, you have to be tough as well. Carolina is that. I don't know if the Panthers can win here, but that defense will help them stay in the game. This should be close.
Result: San Francisco 49ers 9, Carolina Panthers 10
Carolina
Panthers

Arizona
Cardinals
21
The Cardinals are coming off a bye with a real chance to be a playoff contender. The Texans might be playing for their season here. Their coach Gary Kubiak had a health scare last week, which could impact things here since he won't coach. Arizona will get the best of Case Keenum in this one.
Result: Arizona Cardinals 27, Houston Texans 24
Houston
Texans
17

Denver
Broncos
33
The Broncos are coming off a bye and will do it without coach John Fox, who had heart surgery. Jack Del Rio takes over. The Broncos shouldn't miss a beat. San Diego has played well so far, but they didn't do a good job on defense at Washington last week. That continues. Peyton Manning lights them up.
Result: Denver Broncos 28, San Diego Chargers 20
San Diego
Chargers
23

New Orleans
Saints
28
The Saints are coming off a tough loss against the Jets, but they are a different team at home. The Cowboys lost the last time out on the road, and this is a brutal place to play. But the Saints have trouble against the run, which is where the Cowboys will move the football. That keeps them in a tight one as they keep Drew Brees off the field some.
Result: New Orleans Saints 49, Dallas Cowboys 17
Dallas
Cowboys

Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
21
This game is shrouded in controversy for both teams, especially Miami this week. Can they overcome the Jonathan Martin-Richie Incognito situation? Will it pull them together? The Bucs looked good at Seattle last week, which means they haven't quit on their coach. I say they show up here and find a way.
Result: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 22, Miami Dolphins 19
Miami
Dolphins
