MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Thursday, Sep. 11, 2014

Pittsburgh
Steelers
24
These are always physical games that feature a lot of good defense. But the two defenses didn't look good in their openers. Can they bounce back? At least the Steelers had the offense going in Week 1. They continue that here with the no-huddle. Ravens go to 0-2 at home.
Result: Pittsburgh Steelers 6, Baltimore Ravens 26
Baltimore
Ravens

Buffalo
Bills
20
This is a big game. Yep, believe it. The Dolphins showed off a fierce pass rush against the Patriots, but EJ Manuel can move around more than Tom Brady. The Buffalo defense had some pass-defense issues in the opener, but Miami wants to run it. Can they? I say the Bills choke off the run and find a way to win this one.
Result: Buffalo Bills 29, Miami Dolphins 10
Miami
Dolphins
17

Carolina
Panthers
27
This is a battle of two teams that looked good in Week 1. The Panthers will have Cam Newton back after he missed last week's because of a rib injury. I think he will make a big play late to beat a Lions team playing on a short week. It will be close.
Result: Carolina Panthers 24, Detroit Lions 7
Detroit
Lions
26

Cincinnati
Bengals
27
This is one of the week's better games. The Bengals looked really dominant on defense for three quarters against the Ravens. The Falcons looked unstoppable on offense against the Saints. What gives? I see Matt Ryan having another good game, but the Bengals find a way at home.
Result: Cincinnati Bengals 24, Atlanta Falcons 10
Atlanta
Falcons
24

New Orleans
Saints
33
The Saints are playing consecutive road games, and now must face a team playing its home opener. That's tough duty. But I think the New Orleans defense, which was shredded last week by the Falcons, will respond here in a big way. Saints roll.
Result: New Orleans Saints 24, Cleveland Browns 26
Cleveland
Browns
20

New England
Patriots
27
The Patriots are playing consecutive road games, and they are almost in a must-win early in the season. The Vikings looked good on defense last week against the Rams, but this is Tom Brady on the other side. Minnesota counters with Matt Cassel. Enough said.
Result: New England Patriots 30, Minnesota Vikings 7
Minnesota
Vikings
20

Arizona
Cardinals
20
This is a tough challenge for Arizona, playing on a short week and going across the country to play a team in its home opener. But I think this Arizona team is really good, especially on defense. They will get after Eli Manning and turn short fields into points.
Result: Arizona Cardinals 25, NY Giants 14
New York
Giants
17

Tennessee
Titans
33
The Titans really impressed beating the Chiefs on the road last week, and Dallas really looked bad against the 49ers. The Cowboys will bounce back on offense in this one, but the defense is really bad. Jake Locker has another solid game as the Titans take it.
Result: Tennessee Titans 10, Dallas Cowboys 26
Dallas
Cowboys
20

Washington
Redskins
27
The Jaguars are playing consecutive road games, which is always tough. It's even tougher against a team playing its home opener. This could be a tough spot for the young Jaguars. Chad Henne was just average in the second half against the Eagles. That carries over here. The Redskins get it going on offense with Robert Griffin III.
Result: Washington Redskins 41, Jacksonville Jaguars 10
Jacksonville
Jaguars
10

San Diego
Chargers
17
The Chargers had a bad fourth quarter to blow a game at Arizona on Monday night. Back at home -- even on a short week -- I think they will find a way to bounce back. Seattle is well rested, having opened the season last Thursday, but I think Philip Rivers will have a good game here and the Chargers win it on a late field goal.
Result: San Diego Chargers 30, Seattle Seahawks 21
Seattle
Seahawks
14

Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
21
The Bucs were lifeless in a home loss to the Panthers. The Rams could be the perfect tonic. Both teams had quarterback issues last week. Josh McCown bounces back some to lead the Bucs to their first victory.
Result: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17, St. Louis Rams 19
St. Louis
Rams
13

Denver
Broncos
37
The Chiefs looked horrible in their opener against the Titans and suffered two serious injuries on defense. Peyton Manning has to be licking his chops. The Broncos will roll here as the Chiefs fall to 0-2. Manning will throw for 350 and four touchdowns.
Result: Denver Broncos 24, Kansas City Chiefs 17
Kansas City
Chiefs
13

Green Bay
Packers
28
The Packers will have had 10 days to stew over their horrible showing in Seattle. The Jets are coming off a victory over the Raiders, but this is a big step up in offensive class on the other side. With so-so corners, that's a problem against Aaron Rodgers. He lights them up.
Result: Green Bay Packers 31, NY Jets 24
New York
Jets
17

Oakland
Raiders
20
The Raiders didn't do much against the Jets on the road, but that's a tough way to open a season for a rookie quarterback. Derek Carr should be more comfortable at home, and he will play better. The Texans didn't do a lot on offense last week against the Redskins, and that carries over. J.J. Watt can't play every position. Raiders take it in an upset.
Result: Oakland Raiders 14, Houston Texans 30
Houston
Texans
17

San Francisco
49ers
27
The Bears are in desperation mode in Week Two after losing to Buffalo at home. This is not a good spot to try and get right on the road against a good San Francisco team. The 49ers looked improved on offense against Dallas last week, and the Bears struggled on defense. Look for a big 49ers victory.
Result: San Francisco 49ers 20, Chicago Bears 28
Chicago
Bears

Indianapolis
Colts
33
Both teams showed life in the second halves of their openers, but the Colts fell short against Denver while the Eagles rallied to beat Jacksonville. This could be a shootout. This is a tougher challenge for the Eagles secondary that gave up two TD passes in the first quarter last week. Andrew Luck will have success and find a way to pull this one out in the fourth quarter.
Result: Indianapolis Colts 27, Philadelphia Eagles 30
Philadelphia
Eagles
