| Philadelphia Eagles 24, Buffalo Bills 31 | ||
| 27 | The Eagles are really banged up with injuries. But Mike Vick will play here, and that's the most important thing. The Eagles have had trouble defending the pass, and the Bills can really throw it. The Bills lost for the first time last week, so the focus will be there. I just think the Eagles have to have this one and they will find a way. Andy Reid is good in bounce-back situations. Result: Philadelphia Eagles 24, Buffalo Bills 31 | |
| 23 | ||
| New Orleans Saints 30, Carolina Panthers 27 | ||
| 33 | This looks like a game where Cam Newton will have to play his best just to keep up. The Saints should be able to put up a big offensive number on a defense that struggles to stop both the run and the pass. Drew Brees lights up that Carolina defense. Newton can't keep up. Result: New Orleans Saints 30, Carolina Panthers 27 | |
| 21 | ||
| Oakland Raiders 25, Houston Texans 20 | ||
| 27 | The Texans will be without Andre Johnson. That's a big void. Who picks up the slack? The Raiders didn't play well last week against the Patriots, but I think they do here. The Texans put a lot into beating the Steelers last week. That shows up. The Raiders keep it close. Result: Houston Texans 20, Oakland Raiders 25 | |
| 24 | ||
| Kansas City Chiefs 28, Indianapolis Colts 24 | ||
| 22 | When the schedule came out, this one offered so much hope. Now it's a dud. The Chiefs got their first victory last week against the Vikings, while the Colts are playing on a short week having played at Tampa Monday night. The Colts have a ton of injuries in play here. I think it's too much for them to overcome. Chiefs take it. Result: Kansas City Chiefs 28, Indianapolis Colts 24 | |
| 14 | ||
| Cincinnati Bengals 30, Jacksonville Jaguars 20 | ||
| 24 | This is a battle of rookie quarterbacks, Andy Dalton for the Bengals and Blaine Gabbert for the Jaguars. Dalton has been the better of the two so far, but Gabbert made progress last week against the Saints. The difference here is the Bengals have the top-rated defense in the league. I think they get after the rookie. Bengals take it. Result: Cincinnati Bengals 30, Jacksonville Jaguars 20 | |
| 17 | ||
| Arizona Cardinals 10, Minnesota Vikings 34 | ||
| 23 | The Vikings are looking for their first victory while the Cardinals are looking for their second. Both teams will look to get their running games going, with both being in the top-10 in rushing yards per attempt. I look for a ball-control type of game with the Vikings getting their first victory behind a big game from Adrian Peterson. Result: Minnesota Vikings 34, Arizona Cardinals 10 | |
| 17 | ||
| Seattle Seahawks 36, NY Giants 25 | ||
| 30 | The Giants are home after two weeks on the road, and they went 2-0 in those games. Seattle has a long trip to play this one and the last time they were in the East the Steelers ripped them. I think the same thing happens here. That Giants pass rush will get after Tarvaris Jackson. Giants big. Result: NY Giants 25, Seattle Seahawks 36 | |
| 14 | ||
| Tennessee Titans 17, Pittsburgh Steelers 38 | ||
| 27 | The Titans are flying high at 3-1, but this is a second consecutive road game and it's against a team that will be ready for a fight. Ben Roethlisberger is expected to play for the Steelers, but James Harrison won't. Even so, I think the Steelers will get after the Titans on both sides of the ball. This is a litmus test for the Steelers, and they pass it. Result: Pittsburgh Steelers 38, Tennessee Titans 17 | |
| 14 | ||
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3, San Francisco 49ers 48 | ||
| 21 | This is suddenly a huge game. Both teams are 3-1. The Bucs are playing on a short week, coming off a Monday night game, and must now travel west. That's tough. The 49ers are home after two weeks on the road. The Bucs will want to run LaGarrette Blount, but the 49ers have been good against the run. Add it all up and I see the 49ers winning by a touchdown. Result: San Francisco 49ers 48, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3 | |
| 14 | ||
| San Diego Chargers 29, Denver Broncos 24 | ||
| 34 | The Broncos are home after two weeks on the road. They didn't look very good while out on it. The defense is having trouble defending the pass, something you don't want against Philip Rivers. Look for Rivers and the San Diego passing game to crank it up in what should be another high-scoring game. Denver keeps it close with their passing game. Result: San Diego Chargers 29, Denver Broncos 24 | |
| 31 | ||
| NY Jets 21, New England Patriots 30 | ||
| 31 | The Jets are having big problems. They can't throw it and they have little in terms of a pass rush. That's trouble against Tom Brady. The Jets did a good job on Brady in the playoff victory last year, but this Jets team isn't the same. I look for Brady to shred them and make amends for that playoff loss. It doesn't help this is the Jets' third consecutive road game. Result: New England Patriots 30, NY Jets 21 | |
| 20 | ||
| Green Bay Packers 25, Atlanta Falcons 14 | ||
| 31 | The Packers upset the Falcons in the playoffs last year on their way to the title. The Falcons will want payback here. The problem is this Packers team might be better. Aaron Rodgers will be tough to stop. I see a shootout with Matt Ryan trying to match Rodgers throw for throw. In the end, the Packers have too much firepower. It's close. Result: Green Bay Packers 25, Atlanta Falcons 14 | |

| Chicago Bears 13, Detroit Lions 24 | ||
| 31 | How crazy will Ford Field be for a Monday night game featuring an undefeated team? The Lions have proven they are for real, while the Bears still have a lot of questions. The one thing that could impact the Lions here is their run defense, which has struggled. Look for a lot of Matt Forte. But the Lions will put up a big offensive number on a Bears team ranked 31st in the NFL. It's Matt Stafford to Calvin Johnson for two scores to get to 5-0. Result: Detroit Lions 24, Chicago Bears 13 | |
