MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014

Miami
Dolphins
24
This is an elimination game of sorts. The loser will have a tough road to the postseason with six weeks to go. Both teams are 5-4 and coming off tough losses. Both teams have good defenses and good pass rushes. I think Miami will make some big plays on defense to win it.
Result: Miami Dolphins 22, Buffalo Bills 9

Atlanta
Falcons
30
The Panthers were terrible Monday night and Cam Newton is definitely not himself. His line is playing horrible football. I see Matt Ryan lighting up the Carolina secondary, and the Panthers won't be able to keep up.
Result: Atlanta Falcons 19, Carolina Panthers 17
Carolina
Panthers
23

Chicago
Bears
28
How do the Bears bounce back after that awful showing in Green Bay? Can they? I think they do. This is the type of game where that passing game will come alive. Jay Cutler puts up numbers here to shut some people up. For now.
Result: Chicago Bears 21, Minnesota Vikings 13
Minnesota
Vikings
23

Cleveland
Browns
23
The Texans are coming off a bye, but the Browns will have been off for 10 days to neutralize that some. This will be Ryan Mallett's first NFL start for the Texans. He is a big-armed passer who doesn't move that well. Cleveland's pass rush will get him. Browns go to 7-3.
Result: Cleveland Browns 7, Houston Texans 23
Houston
Texans
17

Kansas City
Chiefs
21
This is a huge game for both teams. It will be interesting to see how the Chiefs decide to defend Seattle's run-heavy offense. They have the speed to contain it outside. The loss of Brandon Mebane is huge for Seattle. Jamaal Charles will have a good day. Chiefs in an upset.
Result: Kansas City Chiefs 24, Seattle Seahawks 20
Seattle
Seahawks
20

New Orleans
Saints
28
When the schedule came out, this looked like it could be a huge game. Now it's more of a survival test. Both teams come off bad losses. The Bengals were horrible on offense in losing to the Browns. Can they get it going here? They do, but it won't be enough.
Result: New Orleans Saints 10, Cincinnati Bengals 27
Cincinnati
Bengals

San Francisco
49ers
30
This will be the second long road trip in two weeks for the 49ers. That's tiring. But the Giants are reeling, particularly on defense. They can't stop anybody. But the consecutive road games will be a factor here and the Giants will keep it close.
Result: San Francisco 49ers 16, NY Giants 10
New York
Giants
27

Denver
Broncos
30
The Broncos are playing consecutive road games. That usually matters. It won't here. Peyton Manning will be able to put up his huge numbers again against an aggressive defense. The Rams can't keep up. The Denver pass rush gets all over Austin Davis.
Result: Denver Broncos 7, St. Louis Rams 22
St. Louis
Rams
20

Washington
Redskins
34
This is the dog game of the week. These two are going nowhere, especially the Bucs. They are really bad. Washington is coming off a bye, so that will help. Robert Griffin III takes advantage of a bad Tampa Bay defense.
Result: Washington Redskins 7, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27
Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
24

San Diego
Chargers
28
The Chargers lost three consecutive games before their bye, so it came at a good time. Oakland has lost all of its games, so they could use a bye. The Raiders are 31st in scoring defense, which will be a good thing for Philip Rivers and his passing game.
Result: San Diego Chargers 13, Oakland Raiders 6
Oakland
Raiders
16

Green Bay
Packers
37
This should be a fun shootout. Mark Sanchez looked good in his first start for the Eagles, but that was at home. This will be a lot tougher. Aaron Rodgers should do what he wants against that Eagles secondary. This is a shootout. Packers take it.
Result: Green Bay Packers 53, Philadelphia Eagles 20
Philadelphia
Eagles

Arizona
Cardinals
23
This game could go a long way in deciding the NFC's top seed. That's hard to believe. Arizona will turn to Drew Stanton with Carson Palmer gone for the year. He is more than capable in Bruce Arians' offense. The Lions have the top-ranked defense, so it won't be easy. But I see Arizona's defense coming up big.
Result: Arizona Cardinals 14, Detroit Lions 6
Detroit
Lions
18

Indianapolis
Colts
37
This should be one of those games where the last team with the ball wins. Both are coming off a bye, so they will be rested. Andrew Luck vs. Tom Brady will be a treat. I think Luck finds a way late to win it. Enjoy the show.
Result: Indianapolis Colts 20, New England Patriots 42
New England

Tennessee
Titans
20
This is consecutive road games for the Steelers outside the division, which is tough. With the loss to the Jets last week, do we really know if they are any good? I think the Titans show up and play better in this one and get the running game going. Upset.
Result: Tennessee Titans 24, Pittsburgh Steelers 27
Pittsburgh
Steelers
