MATCHUP SCORE ANALYSIS
Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015

Seattle
Seahawks
26
The Seattle defense is a mess, and 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick seemed to get it going last week against the Ravens. But that won't matter here. The Seahawks will re-group in time to start turning around their season. That defense has too much talent. They rebound.
Result: Seattle Seahawks 20, San Francisco 49ers 3
San Francisco
49ers
17

Buffalo
Bills
24
The Jaguars have lost four straight games and seem to be reeling. The Bills have been up and down all season. Blake Bortles has put up some good numbers, but all for naught. The Bills defense will show up in this one, which will be the difference.
Result: Buffalo Bills 31, Jacksonville Jaguars 34
Jacksonville
Jaguars
18

Washington
Redskins
27
The Bucs are coming off a bye, while the Redskins are home after two straight road losses. Washington isn't a good team, but neither are the Bucs. I think Washington will find a way to get after Jameis Winston here and force a few turnovers to win the game.
Result: Washington Redskins 31, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30
Tampa Bay
Buccaneers
21

Detroit
Lions
28
The Lions won for the first time last week by letting Matt Stafford play more up-tempo. It needs to stay that way in this one. The Vikings are second in scoring defense, so it won't be easy. But I think Stafford will hit Calvin Johnson for some big plays, and that will be the difference.
Result: Detroit Lions 19, Minnesota Vikings 28
Minnesota
Vikings
24

Indianapolis
Colts
30
The Colts lost last week at home to the Patriots, while the Saints won last Thursday against the Falcons. They looked much better doing so. But this game is a tough one on the road, especially for a defense that has struggled big time this season. Andrew Luck will have a big day.
Result: Indianapolis Colts 21, New Orleans Saints 27
New Orleans
Saints
21

Pittsburgh
Steelers
27
It looks like it will be Landry Jones for the Steelers at quarterback. He did some good things against the Cardinals. The Chiefs have major defensive issues, which should help his confidence. The Steelers have done a nice job keeping things together, and that continues here. But it's close.
Result: Pittsburgh Steelers 13, Kansas City Chiefs 23
Kansas City
Chiefs
26

Miami
Dolphins
21
The Dolphins seemed to find some new life in interim coach Dan Campbell's first game. The defense looked much improved. Houston is playing a second consecutive road game, which is always tough. Miami will get after Brian Hoyer. They go to 2-0 under Campbell.
Result: Miami Dolphins 44, Houston Texans 26
Houston
Texans
13

New England
Patriots
27
This is the game of the week. Who can't wait to see the Patriots offense against the Jets defense? That will be a treat. The matchup that will decide the game, though, is the Patriots defense against the Jets offense. I think New England wins that battle, and the game.
Result: New England Patriots 30, NY Jets 23
New York
Jets
17

24
The Rams are coming off a bye, while the Browns are coming off a tough loss. The St. Louis defensive front is one of the best in football and will get after Josh McCown. The Rams have struggled some on offense, but the Browns are the perfect tonic.
Result: St. Louis Rams 24, Cleveland Browns 6
Cleveland
Browns
17

Atlanta
Falcons
28
The Falcons will be rested for 10 days after suffering their first loss against the Saints. This is a second consecutive road game, which is tough. But the Titans will be without Marcus Mariota. That means a lot will be asked of Zach Mettenberger. He can't keep up with Matt Ryan.
Result: Atlanta Falcons 10, Tennessee Titans 7
Tennessee
Titans
20

San Diego
Chargers
23
The Raiders are coming off a bye, while the Chargers are coming off a tough loss on the road at Green Bay. Philip Rivers was on fire in that game, and he will stay that way here. San Diego takes it.
Result: San Diego Chargers 29, Oakland Raiders 37
Oakland
Raiders
13

New York
Giants
30
The Giants looked terrible Monday night losing to the Eagles, while the Cowboys are coming off a bye. The Cowboys will turn to Matt Cassel at quarterback to try and spark the offense. I don't think there's much of a change. The Giants will get back to taking care of the football, and Eli Manning will win it with some big throws.
Result: NY Giants 27, Dallas Cowboys 20
Dallas
Cowboys
21

Carolina
Panthers
24
The Eagles defense looked much better against the Giants Monday night, but now they have to go face a tough team on a short week on the road. Carolina impressed beating the Seahawks last week, and that will carry over here. Cam Newton stays hot.
Result: Carolina Panthers 27, Philadelphia Eagles 16
Philadelphia
Eagles

Arizona
Cardinals
31
When the schedule came out, this looked like it might be a big game. It isn't for the Ravens. At 1-5, they're done. The Cardinals had a bad loss last week at Pittsburgh, but will bounce back here with a strong offensive showing against a bad defense. Carson Palmer has a big game.
Result: Arizona Cardinals 26, Baltimore Ravens 18
Baltimore
Ravens
