| NY Jets 27, Buffalo Bills 11 | ||
| 24 | This is a huge game for these teams. The winner will have a real chance to move toward a playoff spot. The loser is in trouble. The Bills play three road games in a row after this, so they have to get it. The Jets are coming off a bye, so you know they will be ready. The problem is the Jets don't rush the passer well enough. I think the Buffalo offense has success moving the football. The Bills take it. Result: Buffalo Bills 11, NY Jets 27 | |
| 17 | ||
| Seattle Seahawks 13, Dallas Cowboys 23 | ||
| 31 | The Cowboys were horrible in losing to the Eagles Sunday night, so they will be angry and focused here. Seattle has big problems on offense and that will show up as Rob Ryan gets his defense back on track after the bad showing against the Eagles. Dallas gets back right with an easy one against the Seahawks. Result: Dallas Cowboys 23, Seattle Seahawks 13 | |
| 10 | ||
| Cleveland Browns 12, Houston Texans 30 | ||
| 27 | The Texans have righted things the past two weeks with two division victories, and now get a team that isn't playing well coming to their place. Houston has let down at times in this spot, but not here. The Browns are playing consecutive road games, and their offense is non-existent. This shapes up poorly for the Browns -- if there is no Texans letdown. Result: Houston Texans 30, Cleveland Browns 12 | |
| 10 | ||
| Atlanta Falcons 31, Indianapolis Colts 7 | ||
| 27 | The Colts are a statistical nightmare and haven't won a game. They might be getting worse. Atlanta is coming off the bye week, so they are rested. They got their running game going before the bye, and I look for Michael Turner to have a big day here, and that will set up play-action passes for big plays for Matt Ryan. Indy continues to Suck for Luck. Result: Atlanta Falcons 31, Indianapolis Colts 7 | |
| 17 | ||
| Miami Dolphins 31, Kansas City Chiefs 3 | ||
| 23 | The Chiefs have won four consecutive games to get to 4-3 and are tied for the AFC West lead. The Dolphins are playing consecutive non-division road games, which is tough. The Chiefs are on a short week, and could be facing a letdown here. Miami played feisty in New York and I think they will here as well. They keep it close. Result: Kansas City Chiefs 3, Miami Dolphins 31 | |
| 20 | ||
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16, New Orleans Saints 27 | ||
| 27 | The Saints are coming off the worst loss of the Sean Payton era in terms of who/how they lost. The Rams, like most teams, ran right through them. The Bucs will try to do the same. The last time the Bucs came to New Orleans they walked out a winner. But the Saints will be re-focused here. That loss to the Rams will get them back on track. Drew Brees doesn't have two bad games in a row, but Tampa Bay hangs around. Result: New Orleans Saints 27, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16 | |
| 21 | ||
| San Francisco 49ers 19, Washington Redskins 11 | ||
| 20 | The Redskins were horrible on offense against the Bills last week. The offensive line was a sieve. And now they face a 49ers defense that is among the best in the NFL. So why do I like the Redskins? I think this long road trip will be trouble for the 49ers and I think Mike Shanahan will get his team back focused. Upset special. Result: Washington Redskins 11, San Francisco 49ers 19 | |
| 17 | ||
| Denver Broncos 38, Oakland Raiders 24 | ||
| 31 | The Broncos made the decision to start Tim Tebow again. That's good news for the Raiders. The Raiders will start Carson Palmer for the first time. Let's see: Tebow or Palmer? That's easy, almost as easy as this pick. Blowout. Result: Oakland Raiders 24, Denver Broncos 38 | |
| 13 | ||
| Cincinnati Bengals 24, Tennessee Titans 17 | ||
| 21 | Who could have imagined this to be a big game? The Bengals are playing consecutive road games outside the division, which can be tough. But they are keyed by a defense that is ranked fifth in the league and leads this team. The Titans looked good last week against the Colts, but this is a step up. Tennessee is 32nd in rushing and the Bengals are second in run defense. That's the difference here. Result: Cincinnati Bengals 24, Tennessee Titans 17 | |
| 20 | ||
| St. Louis Rams 13, Arizona Cardinals 19 | ||
| 31 | Some in the preseason thought this could be a game matching the two best teams in the division. Yeah, right. These two have two victories between them. The Cardinals need to get their passing game going with Kevin Kolb. Is this the week? The Rams played well on defense last week against the Saints, but this will be different. Kolb lights them up in a high-scoring game. Result: Arizona Cardinals 19, St. Louis Rams 13 | |
| 27 | ||
| NY Giants 24, New England Patriots 20 | ||
| 31 | This is an interesting game for a lot of reasons. The Giants begin a brutal second-half schedule, while the Patriots are trying to regroup after their dismal showing at Pittsburgh. The New England defense has problems defending the pass, which is good for Eli Manning. I think Manning has a big day in his attempt to keep up with Tom Brady, but the Patriots win a close one. Result: New England Patriots 20, NY Giants 24 | |
| 28 | ||
| Green Bay Packers 45, San Diego Chargers 38 | ||
| 35 | The Chargers are home after losing consecutive road games, including Monday against the Chiefs in overtime. And now they get a Green Bay team coming off a bye. That won't be easy. The Chargers are struggling some on offense, and that isn't good against a Green Bay team that is tops in points per game. The Packers are too good and the Chargers too unsettled. Aaron Rodgers has a big day as Green Bay stays undefeated. Result: Green Bay Packers 45, San Diego Chargers 38 | |
| 27 | ||
| Baltimore Ravens 23, Pittsburgh Steelers 20 | ||
| 28 | This is the game of the week, two physical teams that don't like each other. It should be nasty. But there's a change here. The Steelers won't line up and try and pound it at the Ravens anymore. They will spread them out and throw it, the best way to beat them. I look for Ben Roethlisberger and that passing attack to get even for what Baltimore did in the opener. Steelers take it. Result: Pittsburgh Steelers 20, Baltimore Ravens 23 | |
| 21 | ||
| Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 | ||
| Chicago Bears 30, Philadelphia Eagles 24 | ||
| 27 | The Eagles are coming off an impressive victory over Dallas, while the Bears are coming off the bye. Both teams seemed to fix some early-season troubles in their last couple of games. The Eagles will get after Jay Cutler here and LeSean McCoy outdoes Matt Forte. Eagles handily. Result: Philadelphia Eagles 24, Chicago Bears 30 | |
