08/10/16WRSeth DevalveHamstringPROBABLEDeValve has been placed on the active/PUP list.

The rookie tight end will begin his first training camp on the sidelines as he nurses a hamstring injury. The timetable for the injury is still unknown.

08/09/16WRCorey ColemanHamstringPROBABLEColeman (hamstring) drew two targets but did not have any reception in Friday's preseason game against the Buccaneers.

Making his NFL debut, Coleman got the start alongside Terrelle Pryor, but Josh Gordon (suspension) then replaced the rookie for Cleveland's second offensive snap, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal. All three got plenty of first-team snaps, with Gordon catching both of his targets for 87 yards and a touchdown, while Pryor had two receptions for just 15 yards on four targets. Despite the quiet performance, Coleman should have a chance to become one of Robert Griffin's favorite targets while Gordon serves a four-game suspension to start the season. Coleman and Pryor will presumably start outside, with Andrew Hawkins manning the slot in three-wide formations. Depending on how things play out, either Coleman or Pryor will likely cede a starting spot to Gordon in Week 5.

08/03/16WRAndrew HawkinsHamstringPROBABLEHawkins (hamstring) practices on Sunday, ESPN's Tony Grossi reports.

Hawkins did not play in either of the Browns' first two preseason games with a lingering hamstring strain. He's expected to make the Browns' final roster, but, now back in the fold, will fight for pecking order amongst the team's crowded wideout corps.

07/28/16DLDesmond BryantChestNFIBryant (chest) has been placed on the injured reserve list and will sit out the entire season, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

Entering his eighth NFL season and fourth with the Browns, Bryant was a lock to start at defensive end after a 2015 campaign which saw him record a career-high and team-leading six sacks. The torn pectoral muscle he suffered earlier this month was originally thought to keep him out 4-to-6 months, making November the soonest possible return date. Rather than push his recovery in the hopes of a return the team decided it best to shut him down for the season. Carl Nassib appears first in line to replace Bryant, but John Hughes and Dylan Wynn could see some extra snaps as well.

07/25/16WRJosh GordonSuspensionSUSPENDGordon (suspension) caught two passes for 87 yards and a touchdown (two targets) in Friday's preseason game against the Buccaneers.

According to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal, Terrelle Pryor and Corey Coleman (hamstring) technically got the start, with Gordon then replacing the rookie for the second offensive snap. All three wideouts, along with Andrew Hawkins, ended up getting plenty of first-team work, but it was Gordon who clearly left the best impression. The 25-year-old snuck behind Brent Grimes on a double move to pick up 44 yards on the opening drive, then later outleapt Grimes for a 43-yard touchdown shortly before halftime. Gordon's lack of involvement in the time between might normally seem a bit concerning, but the Cleveland offense simply couldn't get anything going, with Robert Griffin ultimately taking five sacks on 19 dropbacks. Whatever issues the Browns offense might still need to work out, Gordon's first on-field appearance since 2014 left little doubt that his elite athleticism is in tact. He should emerge as Griffin's favorite target upon completion of his four-game suspension, though it is possible the Browns quarterback will develop chemistry with Coleman, Pryor and TE Gary Barnidge in the meantime.

07/11/16LBArmonty BryantSuspensionSUSPENDBryant (suspension) pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drug charges on Wednesday and could have his four-game suspension prolonged, Scott Petra of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Bryant was indicted in February on felony drug charges and originally pleaded not guilty, but changed his stance on Wednesday, pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges. As a result, the outside linebacker will receive 68 days probation which will expire on Oct. 3, the same day he is schedule to return from his original four-game suspension. However, now that Bryant has changed his plea, his case will yet again be reviewed under the league's policies, which could potentially lead to a lengthier suspension. Bryant recorded 5.5 sacks in 14 games in 2015.

08/17/16QBColin KaepernickArmPROBABLEKaepernick (shoulder) completed two of six passes for 14 yards, adding four carries for 18 yards, in Friday's preseason game against the Packers.

Starter Blaine Gabbert completed two of three passes for only 14 yards, but he did produce seven points on two drives, whereas Kaepernick was held scoreless over three series. Although head coach Chip Kelly said Kapernick would have a chance to make his claim for the starting job, Friday's game put that sentiment into question, as Kelly turned to Jeff Driskell for the start of the second half. Gabbert thus remains a clear favorite to start Week 1 against the Rams, though it's possible Kaepernick could see extended playing time in the final preseason game.

08/15/16QBThad LewisKneeOUTLewis suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's preseason opener and will now miss the remainder of this season, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Lewis was forced out during the third quarter of Sunday's game, when he was the second signal-caller used in wake of Colin Kaepernick (shoulder) being sidelined. However, now that his season has already come to a close, rookie Jeff Driskel should see more reps behind Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert in practice.

07/31/16DBJaquiski TarttLegNFITartt (undisclosed) was activated from the non-football injury list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Tartt was sidelined after tweaking a muscle, but it is unclear where on his body the tweak occurred. However, it does not appear to be a serious issue, as he has returned after a one week absence. The 24-year-old currently projects to be the teams back up strong safety.

This move was made to make room on the roster for offensive lineman Anthony Davis who was reinstated by the league from retirement Saturday. It remains to be seen when Williams will play again.
